While the world was busy watching red carpet glamour at the Met Gala, two of Bollywood’s biggest stars quietly created their own magic far away from flashing cameras and designer gowns. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone skipped the fashion frenzy but still managed to trend big time, thanks to a dreamy beach shoot for their upcoming film King.
And honestly, the internet is not complaining.

A sunset, a song, and serious chemistry
Instead of posing on the Met Gala carpet, SRK and Deepika were busy walking into a golden sunset somewhere along a South African beach. The duo was spotted filming a romantic song sequence.
Dressed in soft, breezy outfits in neutral shades, the two stars looked completely in sync. They were seen walking towards each other before breaking into a choreographed dance routine.
But it wasn’t all one-take perfection. Like any real shoot, there were retakes. The pair repeated their steps two to three times, pausing mid-way, resetting positions, and going again.
South Africa turns into a fan arena
The shoot may have been planned as a controlled setup, but curiosity has a way of sneaking in. Even though a portion of the beach was reportedly sealed off for filming, the presence of SRK and Deepika drew quite a crowd.
Onlookers gathered from a distance, eager to catch a glimpse of the iconic duo in action. Videos circulating online show people watching in awe as the stars rehearsed and performed.
The actors had only reached in South Africa last week to begin shooting for ‘King’, and they wasted no time diving straight into work. Interestingly, the first schedule itself kicked off with this song sequence.
A short clip from the shoot hinted that the track might feature music by Ed Sheeran. While nothing is confirmed yet, even the rumour alone has fans intrigued.
A massive box office clash is coming
If the shoot has already created this much hype, imagine what will happen when the film finally releases. ‘King’ is easily one of the most awaited Bollywood films of 2026 especially since it marks another collaboration between SRK and Deepika.
The film is set to hit theatres on December 24, 2026. But here’s where things get really interesting. Its release comes just one week after two major Hollywood films ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Dune: Part Three’.
And that’s not all. ‘Jumanji 3’ is also entering the race around the same time.
This means ‘King’ is heading straight into what could become one of the biggest box office clashes ever.
Risky? Maybe. Exciting? Absolutely.
